In addition to ply choice, texture of your silk can vary according to your style and preference.  Smooth silk is very fine and consistent in texture.  A more coarse effect is achieved with slubs interwoven in the various strands of silk fibers.  A slub is a soft thick nub that is either an imperfection or purposely set and adds character and personality to your silk.

Your choice is purely personal.  Your designer may help you with specific choices.  Once we know the ply count and the approximate level of coarseness that would be appropriate, we can carefully select the silk for you.  Only color then remains.
